Early Application Notes
In addition to the above programs, NUS has also opened early application for three more programs: Biodiversity Conservation and Nature-Based Climate Solutions, Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, and Forensic Science.
Early application allows applicants more time to prepare application materials and gives recommenders more time to write recommendation letters.
Moreover, early application eliminates the long waiting period of regular admission—results are known by the end of August. For some programs, if not offered an early admission, applicants may be automatically transferred to the regular application round.
While early application gives a head start, NUS also explicitly states: It recommends this application route for students who are well-prepared with materials or have consistently outstanding academic performance and practical achievements.
Here, we also recommend that applicants who are fully prepared and have strong backgrounds give it a try, to avoid ending up on a shortlist and then struggling to provide supplementary materials.
At the same time, we advise everyone to confirm with the specific program's admissions office in advance whether early application affects regular application, to avoid any loss outweighing the gain.
