This year, U.S. News continues to rank programs across six major disciplines—business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing—as well as other specialty rankings.

For the rapidly evolving field of physics, U.S. News has also released a new ranking this year for “Physics of Living Systems.”

U.S. News rankings take into account a variety of factors, including acceptance rates, student-faculty ratios, student GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT scores, research output, and employment outcomes, and adjust calculation methods accordingly for certain fields based on specific discipline circumstances.

2024 Best Business Schools

This year, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business remains No. 1 in the nation, with Northwestern, UPenn, MIT, and Harvard rounding out the rest of the top five.

The unheralded Dartmouth College surged into the top six nationally this year, tying with Stanford. NYU pushed past Columbia this year to enter the top ten.

UCI rose from 44th to 37th this year, and Lehigh University also entered the top 100.

2024 Best Engineering Schools

Engineering school rankings saw little change this year, with MIT maintaining its dominant hold on the No. 1 spot.

STEM powerhouses Stanford, UC Berkeley, Purdue, and CMU are hot on its heels, holding onto the top five spots in engineering!

UMich’s College of Engineering continued its climb this year, moving from 9th to 7th, tying with last year’s dark horse UT Austin.

2024 Best Education Schools

Education school rankings underwent a major shakeup this year. Columbia’s Teachers College made a strong push to leap to the top spot!

Last year’s leader, UPenn, dropped two spots this year to tie for third with Northwestern University and UW-Madison. Northwestern jumped eight positions to enter the top three.
