This year, U.S. News continued to rank programs primarily in business, education, law, and nursing, along with other specialized rankings. Due to data review issues, the rankings for engineering, medical schools, and clinical psychology programs have been postponed.
U.S. News rankings consider multiple factors, including acceptance rates, student-faculty ratios, GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT scores, research output, employment outcomes, etc., and adjust methodologies for specific disciplines accordingly.
In the latest rankings, the factors and weights for business graduate programs have been adjusted: greater emphasis is placed on post-graduation salary performance, and a new factor—salary performance by professional field—has been added to comprehensively measure the impact of business schools on graduates' starting salaries.

2025 Best Business Schools
Due to changes in ranking factors and weights, this year's graduate business school rankings saw significant shifts.
The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School (ranked 3rd last year) and Stanford Graduate School of Business (ranked 6th last year) have tied for first place, pushing the University of Chicago Booth School of Business down.
Northwestern, Chicago, and MIT round out the rest of the Top 5.
NYU Stern School of Business continues its strong momentum, ranking 7th this year, just behind Harvard Business School.
Washington University in St. Louis Olin Business School made a notable jump, rising 11 spots to enter the Top 30.
2025 Best Education Schools
After last year's major reshuffling in education school rankings, and with no methodological changes this year, there were no particularly dramatic shifts.
Columbia University Teachers College continued its strong performance and tied for first place with the University of Wisconsin–Madison (up two spots). UCLA, which dropped to 7th last year, returns to the Top 3 this year.
The remaining Top 5 spots are shared by the University of Michigan, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt.
