Program Introduction:

The Kelley School of Business aims to enable students from any major, including humanities, sciences, music, arts, public health, or other business-related fields, to supplement their undergraduate knowledge with business coursework. This program offers a master's degree for students who wish to add management skills to their undergraduate education and equip themselves with the business acumen needed for their future careers.

 

Program Duration:

  • Current Kelley students (including those with a business minor) need to complete 30 credit hours (over 10 months).

  • Non-Kelley students need to complete 36 credit hours (over 12 months), including an additional 6 credit hours of business foundation courses.

 

Curriculum:

The MSM program includes two practicum courses:

  • In the first semester: Practicum 1: Managerial Consulting

  • In the final semester: Practicum 2: Field Study

  • Students must choose one of three tracks: Strategy, Leadership and Human Resources, or Entrepreneurship.

  • The first semester of this degree will begin in Summer 2024 (June).

Application Deadlines:

  • For IUB undergraduate applicants: January 15 (early decision deadline); March 15 (standard deadline)

  • For applicants from other U.S. universities: January 1 (early decision deadline); March 1 (standard deadline)

  • For international undergraduate applicants: December 1 (early decision deadline); January 15 (standard deadline)

 

Application Materials:

  • IUB undergraduates may apply as early as their sophomore year. Students from other Indiana University campuses or other universities apply in their final year of undergraduate study.

  • A GPA of 3.2 or above is preferred, and unofficial transcripts are accepted for initial review.

  • Resume

  • Personal statement (500–700 words)

  • Two letters of recommendation, with at least one from an undergraduate instructor.

  • Current Kelley students are not required to submit GMAT or GRE scores; students from other universities may apply for a GMAT or GRE waiver.

  • English proficiency: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL iBT 105 (computer-based 260 or above, paper-based 620 or above).

  • Interview (by invitation only)

 

Career Prospects:

  • Students will have the opportunity to participate in two practicum projects, allowing them to further explore business concepts and benefit from exposure to senior management environments.

  • Through elective courses, students can explore other functional areas of business, including accounting, economics, finance, operations, and marketing. Their management coursework will delve into organizational behavior, venture strategy, and building diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations.
