I. Program Introduction
HKUST’s Master of Science in Drug Regulatory Affairs and Policy is an innovative interdisciplinary program housed in the School of Science, integrating knowledge from law, pharmacy, public health, and policy analysis. This high-quality program spans one year and aims to develop professionals in global drug regulation capable of working in government, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and academia. The establishment of the Centre for Medical Products Regulation (CMPR) was a highlight of the Hong Kong SAR’s 2023 Policy Address, making this program particularly significant for Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

The program’s uniqueness lies in preparing students to become senior managers and key practitioners in guiding documents, laws, and regulations for pharmaceutical companies and/or government agencies. Through this training and exposure, graduates will be able to manage regulatory affairs positions in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostic, and healthcare product companies, as well as government agencies throughout their careers.

III. Admission Requirements
Background Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or above in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, physical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biomedical/bioscience, genetics, medicine, or other related disciplines.
Applicants with experience in the biotechnology industry will have an advantage.
Language Requirements:
IELTS: minimum overall score 6.5 (with sub-score 5.5)
TOEFL: minimum score 80
