Every year on New Year's Eve at 6 p.m., the crystal ball in Times Square, the commercial hub of New York, is lit and slowly rises, illuminating the entire Manhattan, signaling the official start of the New Year's Eve revelry.
After the countdown at midnight, fireworks burst forth, and as the crystal ball is released, thousands of colorful confetti rain down from the sky, dancing in the wind. These are not ordinary confetti; they are wish notes carrying the hopes of tens of thousands of people!
Every December, the organizers set up wish booths in Times Square, where everyone can go and write down their wishes on sticky notes.
