After Submitting Your UC Transfer Application, Don’t Miss These Key Dates and Tips

返回新鲜资讯Back to News

Submitting your UC transfer application is just the beginning. There are still many procedures and deadlines to watch. CheersYou(清柚教育) reminds students that from January to July, you need to update fall grades and spring courses, await decisions, submit your SIR to confirm enrollment, and send final official transcripts. Stay focused on your studies and maintain your GPA in the final semester to avoid having your offer rescinded. If you are interested in a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG), complete your application by the end of May and meet the credit and GPA requirements. CheersYou(清柚教育) advises following the official timeline closely, preparing supplementary materials and final transcripts in advance to ensure a smooth path to your dream UC campus.

If you submitted your Fall 2021 UC transfer application in December, don’t relax just yet. After applying, there are still many complex procedures and deadlines that need your careful attention.

You’ll need to update your grades, send supplementary materials, and some of you may even receive a review email from UC Admissions because of incomplete information on your application.

CheersYou(清柚教育) has compiled a timeline and key reminders for you after submitting your application. Save this and prepare accordingly.

Transfer Timeline

January 8 – January 31 | Update Your Grades

By January 31, all applicants who submitted in December 2020 must update their final fall grades and the courses they plan to take in spring.

Due to the pandemic, many community colleges allow students to switch from Letter Grade to P/NP, but we still recommend confirming with your academic advisor before enrolling in courses.

March 1 – May 1 | Admission Notifications

UC sends out admission decisions during this period, no later than May 1. If you’re placed on a waitlist, you may have to wait until June for a final decision.

Keep in mind that UC doesn’t just look at your grades before applying—your final semester at community college can also affect their admission decision.

If your performance drops significantly, the admissions office may reconsider and potentially rescind your offer. So don’t slack off in your last semester—protect that GPA.

May 1 – May 31 | Winter/Spring Transfer TAG Application

The six UC campuses that offer TAG:

Davis

Irvine

Merced

Riverside

Santa Barbara

Santa Cruz

Before applying, you need 30 UC-transferable units and meet the minimum GPA requirement of the corresponding campus for UC TAG.

Each campus has slightly different TAG requirements. If you’re interested, click the link below to learn more.

June 1 | Submit SIR

By this deadline, select your preferred UC campus and submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Note that you must pay the deposit to officially confirm your enrollment.

July 1 | Send Final Transcripts

By July 1, fall 2021 transfer students must send their official final transcripts to the UC campus admissions office.

Transcripts must be mailed or submitted electronically by July 1. Each campus accepts different forms of transcripts, so prepare ahead of time.

July 15 | AP/IB Score Submission

By July 15, AP/IB score reports must be mailed or sent electronically to the UC campus admissions office. If you attended high school in the U.S., you also need to provide a high school transcript.

Pre-enrollment Reminders

Finally, before enrollment, make sure to check emails about course registration, immunization requirements, and other important messages from your new campus to avoid missing critical deadlines that could jeopardize your admission.

In the past, we’ve seen students forced to withdraw because they forgot to register for classes, ending up having to reapply the following year.

All deadlines are based on the official UC website and may change. For example, this year’s application deadline was extended. So prepare early and don’t wait until the last minute to submit, just in case.
