Every New Year’s Eve at 6 p.m., the crystal ball in Times Square, the commercial hub of New York, is lit and slowly raised to illuminate all of Manhattan, marking the official start of the New Year’s Eve celebration.

After the midnight countdown, fireworks burst, and as the crystal ball is released, thousands of colorful pieces of paper shower down from above, floating in the wind. These are not ordinary confetti—they are wish notes carrying the hopes of tens of thousands of people!
Every December, the organizers set up wish booths in Times Square where everyone can write down their wishes on notes.
Times Square wishes really do come true
Americans truly believe in the power of Times Square wishes, and countless stories attest to their efficacy.
Legend has it that someone once wished for a lottery win at Times Square and actually won $2 million.
Legend has it that someone wished for wealth and saw their stock soar sixfold in the new year.
Legend has it that someone wished to "get an offer" and was then accepted by their dream school.
This mystical magic attracts many students each year who come in person to write their “wish for offers.”
“Please let me receive a scholarship Ivy League offer in the new year!”
“Praying for an offer, don’t let me become an out-of-school child (ಥ﹏ಥ)”
“My dream school offer, please come soon, the wait is agonizing!”
The moment the wish notes fly into the air at midnight,
In the unseen,
There is a powerful force of attraction
Binding you tightly with your dreams!
There is a strong driving force
That makes the universe receive your wish order!
And there is a mysterious power
That lets you achieve a full sweep of offers in the new year!
