Computer Science (CS) has always been a hot field for graduate applications, and for Australian bachelor’s students it is no exception. But for those without an honors degree, there is always the worry that US schools do not accept three-year undergraduate programs.

In fact, that’s not entirely true. While there are restrictions, the options are not entirely closed.
Broadly, schools fall into two categories: those that accept and those that consider:
➡️Accepting means there are nearly no restrictions—you can apply if you want (though the bar is another story; a low WAM is definitely not enough for a hyper-competitive field like CS).
➡️Considering mainly depends on your background: if you are strong in all aspects, the school has no reason to reject you.
Schools that accept:
· Carnegie Mellon CS (requires WES certification)
· Columbia CS
· JHU CS
· Emory CS (requires WES certification)
· NEU CS

Schools that consider:
· Stanford CS (does not explicitly reject, will look at WES)
· UChicago CS
· Cornell Tech CS
· NYU CS
· WashU CS
· Rice CS
