3. Duke FinTech Program Overview
The Master of Engineering in Financial Technology is a program jointly launched in 2019 by the Pratt School of Engineering and the Duke Financial Economics Center (DFE). The program duration is 3-4 semesters.
Duke FinTech emphasizes developing solutions using tools such as blockchain, machine learning, and secure software development. The program has two tracks—Technology and Technology Management—allowing students to customize their curriculum based on their career plans.

4. Advantages of the Duke FinTech Program
Duke's FinTech program, launched in 2020, is among the first to be based within an engineering school. Because of this, it is not yet widely known and receives relatively few applications, so even students from non-top-tier universities have a chance to be admitted.
Moreover, the program is STEM-designated, which means graduates are eligible for a 3-year OPT period—extremely beneficial for those planning to work in the U.S. after graduation.
In addition to seven core technical courses, the curriculum includes two business courses designed to enhance students' leadership and management capabilities. The capstone project and internship components are particularly advantageous for those aiming to secure employment in the U.S. Furthermore, Duke University places a strong emphasis on the student experience, organizing a wealth of activities including lectures, seminars, and workshops.
