2. Program Features

 

The MDSH meets the growing demand for professionals with computational and statistical skills to harness the vast treasure trove of health-related big data. The program aims to enhance data science skills, helping professionals advance in hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, insurance companies, government agencies, and other healthcare and public health management organizations.

It is suitable for both full-time students and working professionals.

The MDSH is also the newest degree program at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (FSPH) and is a STEM-designated program.

The inaugural class will start in Fall 2023; only fall admission is available.

 

 

3. Program Curriculum

 

The program length is 20 months, spanning a minimum of six semesters, and requires a total of 12 courses (4 credits per course).

A maximum of two courses per semester is allowed (the public health course can be waived if you hold a public health degree).
