The UK's Computer Science (CS) programs are highly favored by Chinese students. Leading universities maintain close ties with industry giants, offering students rich internship and job opportunities. Renowned institutions such as Imperial College London, University College London, and the University of Edinburgh enjoy excellent reputations. Their curricula cover a wide range of areas, including artificial intelligence and software engineering. Even students without a computing background can access high-quality education through conversion master's programs.
Today we will take a detailed look at CS master's programs, with real admission cases~ For more application details, add CheersYou(清柚教育) advisor WeChat: qingyouge23!

Imperial College London
Imperial College London offers a diverse range of computer science programs. In addition to MSc Computing and MSc Advanced Computing, it provides five specialized master's pathways: Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Management and Finance, Security and Reliability, and Software Engineering.

Imperial's MSc Computing program accepts applications from non-CS backgrounds, but other graduate programs require an undergraduate degree in computer science.

University College London (UCL)
In 1991, Geoffrey Hinton, a key figure in computing, established the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Centre at UCL, forging close resource and talent collaborations with the Department of Statistical Science, the Department of Computer Science, and the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience.
Since then, UCL has achieved higher-level research outcomes in computer science, becoming one of the top CS institutions, and maintains close ties with international companies like Google and Microsoft.
UCL's MSc Computer Science is specifically designed for students without a computing background. The program combines theory and practice, meeting industry needs while laying a solid foundation for academic research.

UCL CS elective modules are divided into three parts. Students must choose at least 15 credits and up to 45 credits from Part I, and up to 15 credits and 30 credits respectively from Parts II and III:

University of Edinburgh
As one of the UK's oldest universities, its computer science program is on par with the G5 universities. Edinburgh accepts applications from various backgrounds, including cognitive science, electrical engineering, mathematics, and physics. However, applicants must be familiar with at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java, Python, R, Matlab, Haskell, ML.
Over two semesters, students gain knowledge in computer system design, analysis, and applications. The curriculum covers topics ranging from small processor components to internet-scale systems. Students can also choose to study areas such as algorithms, programming languages, or cryptography in depth.

University of Bristol
Although not particularly prominent in overall rankings, Bristol's computer science program ranks excellent. The MSc Computer Science (conversion) is specifically designed for students with little or no computing background, aiming to cultivate talent from diverse disciplines.
Bristol CS master's program structure:

In the first semester, students study theoretical knowledge; in the second semester, they complete a group project and a dissertation to graduate.
Note that Bristol has high GPA requirements. Applicants from non-prestigious Chinese universities are advised to have a GPA of at least 88%.
