Boston University's Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences has introduced a Master of Data Science program, designed to cultivate data science professionals with interdisciplinary expertise. The flexible program can be completed in as few as 9 months, offering two concentrations—core research and applied practice—covering five key areas including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data security to enhance students' modeling and innovation capabilities.

Applicants should have a background in computer science or data science with prerequisite coursework. Language requirements include a TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS 7.0; GRE scores are not required. Curriculum

Students must complete 32 credits and choose one of the following concentrations:

- Core Methods Concentration

- Applied Methods Concentration

Each concentration provides three specialized courses totaling 12 credits, along with five competency courses that must cover the following five areas:

- A1 Modeling and Predictive Analytics

- A2 Data-Centric Computing

- A3 Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

- A4 Social Impact

- A5 Security and Privacy

Application Requirements

· Background: A background in computer science, data science, or a related field is required, and most or all coursework equivalent to the following list should be completed.
