1. University of California, Berkeley
Computational Social Science
UC Berkeley's Master of Computational Social Science (MaCSS) was announced on September 18. It is a one-year, full-time program housed in the College of Letters and Science, Berkeley's largest college. The inaugural cohort will enter in Fall 2024, and applications are now open, with the first round deadline on January 8, 2024.
This interdisciplinary program sits at the intersection of computing and social science, featuring coursework in computer science, statistics, and data analytics, yet it is targeted at applicants with social science backgrounds. It is an excellent fit for liberal arts students looking to pivot into tech-oriented roles.

Application requirements:
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to have an undergraduate degree in a social science discipline, including but not limited to anthropology, demography, economics, geography, history, linguistics, psychology, political science, and sociology, as well as interdisciplinary social science programs such as communication studies, ethnic studies, gender and sexuality studies, global studies, and political economy.
- GRE is not required, but if you choose not to submit GRE scores, a quantitative skills statement must be provided.
2. Northwestern University
Information Systems
Northwestern University's Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is a one-year program requiring 11 graduate credits. Unlike traditional computer science curricula, it emphasizes the development and management of existing software projects in the workplace.
Students can choose from two tracks—Information Systems Management and Information Systems Security—to focus on their area of interest and acquire the skills needed for a career in IT management upon graduation.

3. University of Manchester
Computational and Corpus Linguistics
The MSc in Computational and Corpus Linguistics is also a one-year program, housed in the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures. The curriculum focuses on the theoretical foundations of natural language processing and data-intensive linguistic research. Students will also gain essential skills in computer programming, statistics, and research design, while considering the ethical implications of these applications.

- Especially suitable for students with an undergraduate degree in linguistics (or a related field) who wish to develop quantitative and computational skills, as well as for those with some quantitative background seeking training in linguistics and computation.
- Excellent applicants with degrees in other fields (e.g., philosophy) will also be considered.
4. National University of Singapore
Design in Integrated Design
NUS's Master of Design in Integrated Design is offered by the College of Design and Engineering and officially opened for applications in October this year. The program provides a multifaceted understanding of business operations and how design can be integrated across all facets of an organization, balancing theoretical foundations with hands-on experience.
Furthermore, students will have opportunities to work on projects in the hospitality industry, collaborating with professional design, marketing, logistics, and sales teams; or work in high-tech organizations alongside UI/UX teams, software engineers, and content developers.
