UChicago Launches New Master's in Data Science: Program Overview, Curriculum, and Application Requirements

返回新鲜资讯Back to News

The University of Chicago has recently made significant adjustments to its data science programs, renaming the existing MSc Analytics to MS in Applied Data Science (MS ADS) and introducing a brand new research-oriented MS in Data Science (MS DS). Unlike the career-focused ADS, the new MS DS program features interdisciplinary instruction from faculty in Statistics, Computer Science, and other departments, allowing students to take introductory doctoral courses covering optimization, linear algebra, and statistics. It is an excellent fit for those aiming for academic depth or doctoral studies. Applications are now open with a deadline of February 25, 2024. The curriculum includes 5 core courses, 4 cross-departmental electives, 1 project, and 3 online foundational courses. Notably, GRE scores are not required; only TOEFL 90 or IELTS 7.0, along with transcripts, personal statement, and recommendations are needed. Tuition is approximately $6,593 per course. The University of Chicago established the Committee on Data Science this year and recently renamed its MSc Analytics program to MSc Applied Data Science (MS ADS). It has now also launched a new program: MS in Data Science (MS DS). Unlike the career-oriented ADS, DS is a research-oriented program better suited for academically focused students. The application is now open. Interested students can learn more with a CheersYou(清柚教育) advisor. For more questions, scan the QR code below for one-on-one consultation.
