United States

 

CMU Launches New Management and Dual-Degree Master's

 

Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business has introduced a new Master of Science in Management for 24Fall, which is open to all academic backgrounds—ideal for interdisciplinary applicants!

 

The 10-month program is STEM-designated, offering an extended OPT period after graduation!

 

Another highlight: after completing the program and gaining at least two years of work experience, graduates are eligible to apply to Tepper's Accelerated MBA program.

 

Beyond management, CMU's Tepper School and France's ESSEC Business School have also announced a new joint dual-degree program!

 

 

The two-year program requires one year at each institution. Upon completion, students earn a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) from CMU Tepper and a Master in Management (MIM) from ESSEC.

 

And Tepper's MSBA is also a STEM-designated program.

 

 

UC Berkeley Introduces Computational Social Science Program

 

UC Berkeley has launched a brand-new Master of Computational Social Science for 24Fall, housed in its largest college, the College of Letters & Science.

 

 

This interdisciplinary program blends computing and social sciences, primarily targeting students with social science backgrounds—a perfect fit for humanities students aiming to pivot into tech fields!

 

 

This is the inaugural cohort for 24Fall, and applications are open now. The first round deadline is January 8, 2024, and the second round is March 1, 2024.

 

UChicago Booth School of Business Launches Management Program

 

The University of Chicago's renowned Booth School of Business is adding a new Master in Management program for 24Fall, a 10-month degree.

 

Booth has consistently ranked among the top three business schools. This new management program is Booth's first new degree program in 88 years!

 

Designed specifically for recent graduates, it requires no work experience and is open to students from any academic background except business—perfect for humanities or STEM graduates without a business degree to pivot.

 

 

Duke Launches Climate & Sustainability Engineering Master's

 

Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering has been actively expanding its portfolio, and for 24Fall it introduces the Master of Climate & Sustainability Master of Engineering.

 

 

The two-year program covers topics like climate adaptation engineering, implementation of engineering solutions, climate AI, sustainable materials, and circular economy.

UCL Rolls Out Multiple New Master's

 

UCL launched 10 new programs for 23Fall and hasn't slowed down for 24Fall! The Department of Statistical Science has revamped its MSc Medical Statistics and Data Science.

 

 

The curriculum emphasizes statistical and data science, making it ideal for quantitative background applicants aiming for advanced work in healthcare or biomedical data. UCL's Faculty of Brain Sciences also introduces an MSc Bioscience Innovation and Enterprise; undergraduates from finance, economics, biology, or medicine can all consider it.

 

 

Additionally, UCL's Division of Medicine has opened an MSc Musculoskeletal Science and Medical Engineering, and the Faculty of Engineering Sciences now offers a new criminology-focused MSc Crime Science with Serious Organised Crime.

 

 

Manchester Launches Four New Programs

 

The University of Manchester, after adding four master's programs for 23Fall (Digital Marketing, Digital Media, Cultural Industries), has unveiled another four brand-new courses for 24Fall—all in hot-demand areas!

 

  • MSc Economics and Data Science

  • MA Social Change, Environment and Sustainability

  • MSc Sustainable Business

  • MSc Computational and Corpus Linguistics

 

Economics and Data Science and Social Change, Environment and Sustainability are both new in the School of Social Sciences! The Economics and Data Science program leans toward economics, and applicants ideally should have some programming basics.

 

 

The MSc Sustainable Business, housed in Alliance Manchester Business School, will undoubtedly have rigorous admission standards. Meanwhile, the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, which hosts Computational and Corpus Linguistics, does not use a restrictive list, so applicants from non-211/985 or second-tier universities are welcome.

 

 

IC Introduces Geotechnical Engineering Master's

 

Imperial College London's top-tier Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has launched a new MSc Geotechnical Engineering.

 

 

This program evolves and updates the former Soil Mechanics offering, now focusing on advanced theories of soil and their application to geotechnical engineering problems, with rich academic resources.

 

 

Hong Kong, China

 

HKU Engineering and Arts Faculties Add New Programs

 

The University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Engineering has added an MSc in Engineering (Microelectronics Science and Technology) for 24Fall, a standard one-year program with a first-round deadline of December 29.

 

 

This program is suited for students with an engineering background. As the microelectronics and semiconductor sectors boom, HK PolyU and University of Macau have also introduced similar programs in recent years.

 

Additionally, HKU's Faculty of Arts will offer a new MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) for 24Fall, with a first-round deadline of January 31, 2024.

 

 

PPE is an interdisciplinary program open to all backgrounds, covering public policy, economic systems, philosophical theories, and more.

 

CUHK Launches Sustainable Global Business

 

The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Business School has started an MSc in Sustainable Global Business for 24Fall.

 

 

As the name suggests, it's an ESG program, providing hands-on learning and exposure through interactions with sustainability professionals across industries and countries. Applications for 24Fall are non-rolling, with a final deadline of March 31, 2024.

 

PolyU Adds 2 More Popular Master's

 

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University kicked off its 24Fall applications by launching five new programs:

 

  • MSc in Smart Manufacturing

  • MSc in Intelligent Construction

  • MSc in Carbon Neutral Cities and Urban Sustainability

  • MSc in Nutrition and Health Ageing

  • MSc in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation

 

Recently, PolyU has added two more hot programs: MSc in Quantitative Finance and FinTech and MSc in Electric Vehicles.

 

 

Additionally, for 24Fall, PolyU's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Department of Health Technology and Informatics, has introduced three new programs:

 

  • MSc in Medical Data Science

  • Master of Medical Imaging

  • Master of Medical Laboratory Science
