After Submitting Your Transfer Application, What Else Do I Need to Do?
⏰ January 8 ~ January 31 | Update Grades
Before January 31 next year, all students who submitted applications in November 2023 need to update their final fall semester grades and indicate any courses they are taking or plan to take in the spring semester.
Even if you have no ongoing or planned courses and your course grade record was complete in your original application, you must log in to the application system to complete the Transfer Academic Update.
⏰ March 1 ~ May 1 | Offer Notifications
UC releases admission decisions during this period, usually no later than May 1. Students placed on the waitlist will have to wait until June to hear back.
Note that UC does not only look at your grades before submitting the application; your final semester grades at community college will also affect the university's admission decision.
If your grades drop significantly, the admissions office may reconsider and possibly rescind your offer. So don't get complacent—don't let your GPA slip during the last semester.
⏰ June 1 | Submit SIR
By the deadline, choose your preferred UC campus and submit the SIR (Statement of Intent to Register).
Please note that you need to pay the deposit at the same time to officially confirm you will attend that school. Students can only accept admission from one UC campus, and after submitting the SIR, you cannot transfer your admission offer from one campus to another.
⏰ July 1 | Submit Final Transcripts
Before July 1, students admitted for Fall 2024 must send their final official transcripts (high school and/or college official transcripts) to the UC admissions office.
Transcripts can be mailed or submitted electronically. The acceptable form of transcripts may vary by UC campus, so be sure to check and prepare in advance.
⏰ July 15 | Submit AP/IB Scores
Official AP, IB, and A-Level exam scores must be submitted by July 15.
Winter/Spring Transfer TAG Application
Also, students planning to apply for Winter or Spring 2025 transfer through TAG to UC should note two important time windows not to be missed.
⏰ May 1 ~ May 31 | Submit Winter/Spring TAG Application
Most UC campuses do not accept spring/winter transfers. Here are some UC campuses that accept winter/spring applications and TAG:

Below are some specific requirements for signing a TAG agreement from UCI's official website, for reference:
1. Complete at least 30 semester or 45 quarter units of transferable coursework
2. Meet the minimum transferable GPA of 3.4
3. Complete one transferable math course with a grade of C or better
4. Complete one transferable English composition course with a grade of C or better
5. Complete the second transferable English composition course before transferring
6. Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter units of transferable coursework before transferring
7. Complete all major requirements (including prerequisites) and meet the minimum GPA requirement
8. Be in good academic standing and meet all basic UC transfer requirements
9. Your last semester must be taken at a California community college
There are many clauses and very detailed requirements. We can see that in addition to the basic GPA requirement, there are also clear stipulations about units per term and specific required courses.
Before applying for TAG, students must carefully check whether their courses meet each campus's agreement requirements, or they might even miss the opportunity for their safety school.
⏰ July 1 ~ July 31 | Submit Winter/Spring UC Application
At the same time, students planning to enroll in winter or spring should also remember to submit their regular UC application through the UC application portal between July 1 and July 31.
