Program Introduction:
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is launching a new Master of Science (MS) in Global Health degree, starting for the first time in Fall 2024.
The program will train students to transform technical knowledge into innovative solutions that improve people’s health and increase equitable access to healthcare globally, with a focus on the social, human, and ethical implications of healthcare technologies. Gain hands-on experience through practical internships and field research at WPI’s unique global project centers and partner sites.
The program is designed for students to learn from faculty with expertise in areas such as biology, biomedical engineering, computer science, data analytics, global studies, interactive media, and social sciences. It will guide students to use data-driven research to help in digital health technologies, artificial intelligence, VR/AR, 3D printing, robotics, wearable sensors, electronic health records, and telemedicine.

Graduate Qualifying Project (GQP): completed in connection with a concentration-related internship at a health-related organization or company in the U.S. or at one of WPI’s global project centers and university research partner sites around the world.

Admission Criteria:

A bachelor’s degree in a field related to one of the four concentrations, or a minor in global health, or some direct experience in the field.

GRE is recommended (with reference scores of 150 verbal, 165 quantitative, and 3.0 analytical)

Non-native English speakers must submit official TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores.

The English proficiency test requirement is waived for applicants who have completed two years of full-time continuous study at a college or university in the U.S., UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or Anglophone regions of Africa or Canada.
