TC Adds Video Essay Requirement
This year, to better assess applicants' English proficiency, many popular TC programs have added a Video Essay requirement.

The master's programs that now require a Video Essay include:
Economics and Education
Communication and Education
Arts Administration
Developmental Psychology
Instructional Technology and Media, etc.
Non-native English speakers generally need to answer a question within 90 seconds, with a set prompt, such as:
What was the most interesting class you took during your educational career and why?
You can prepare your answer in advance and then record. There is only one recording attempt, so we recommend thinking carefully before submitting it in your online application.
In previous application seasons, some TC programs already required a Video Essay, and for programs like TESOL, the prompts could be even more complex.
The social sciences and humanities have always emphasized communication skills, and this move by TC aims to better evaluate applicants' oral English communication abilities.
It is expected that more programs may add a Video Essay requirement in the future, so we recommend preparing in advance.
