the latest 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings

 

This year, U.S. News ranked programs across six major disciplines: business, engineering, education, law, medicine, and nursing, along with other specialty rankings.

 

U.S. News rankings take into account multiple factors including acceptance rates, GPA/GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT scores, research activity, and employment outcomes, with indicator weights adjusted according to each discipline.

2025 Best Business Schools

 

The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, which ranked first last year, repeats as the sole champion this year.

 

Stanford dropped one spot to tie with Northwestern for 2nd.

 

Columbia Business School cracked the Top 10 this year, rising from 12th to 9th. UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business both fell out of the top 10.

 

Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management made significant progress, jumping from 66th to 54th.

 

 

2025 Best Education Schools

 

UW-Madison, which tied with Columbia for first last year, has now overtaken Teachers College to claim sole possession of No. 1.

 

This year's second place is shared by Columbia's Teachers College, the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor's Marsal Family School of Education, and Vanderbilt University's Peabody College.

 

In nine education specialty rankings, Michigan State University's College of Education leads in four categories: education administration, elementary teacher education, higher education administration, and secondary teacher education.

 

 

2025 Best Engineering Schools

 

The top three engineering schools remained unchanged: MIT, Stanford, and UC Berkeley.

 

There is one newcomer in the top 10: UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering moved up one spot to 10th. Meanwhile, the University of Michigan's College of Engineering fell from 9th out of the top 10.

 

Across 13 engineering specialties, MIT ranked first in six: aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, materials, and mechanical engineering.
