CMU eBusiness Technology (abbreviated as eBiz)
It completely overturns the traditional concept of "going to school for classes" and instead gives the feeling of "students going to work at the school." The program is divided into three semesters, with the main first two semesters consisting of 16 Tasks and one Practicum. These projects cover various aspects such as e-commerce websites, CRM, data mining, and are completed in small groups, with group members rotating regularly, usually twice per semester.
The eBiz program has limited course choices and many restrictions; for students who enjoy learning theoretical knowledge, I would strongly advise against applying. Some of the better courses are Java, distributed systems, and cloud computing, but the latter two are recommended only for those with a CS background. Students from other majors with a weaker foundation can choose some introductory courses to transition.

CMU eBiz Master's Program

Known as the easiest master's program at CMU, it was praised for its near-100% employment rate and eventually became one of the top choices for career changers aiming for CS.

Like the vast majority of CMU's other computer science master's programs, the eBiz program funneled coders into the industry.
Simply put, eBusiness is e-commerce. Established in 1998 when Google and Amazon were booming and computer monitors were still CRTs, CMU launched a program like this.
Today, with the proliferation of tools and libraries for high-concurrency multi-threading on the web, human-computer interaction, SEO, and app development, the learning curve has become much lower—there is essentially no need for such a program at an elite institution like CMU.
The tide has shifted, and the industry's greatest shortage is no longer web talent. The new Computational Data Science and AI master's programs recently launched by CMU represent the most promising directions for future development.
The release of this news is a devastating blow to applicants for Fall 2018. Now, with the high number of career changers applying to CS, the difficulty, and the tight timeline, there is one fewer top-tier option. Students who saw eBiz as their last resort will have to aim lower, facing immense pressure.
