The 2021 QS Asia University Rankings have been officially released, featuring 650 universities from 18 Asian countries and regions. Top 10 Asian Universities

In the latest 2021 QS Asia University Rankings top ten, the first place is still the National University of Singapore, marking NUS's 8th consecutive year at the top of the regional ranking.

Tsinghua University emerged as a "dark horse" among Chinese universities, leaping to second place in this year's ranking, up two spots from last year. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore ranks third.

The ten highest-ranked institutions from Singapore (2), mainland China (5), Hong Kong, China (2), and Malaysia (1) are:

Mainland Chinese Universities

A total of 124 universities from mainland China are ranked, the highest number among all Asian countries/regions.

In previous QS Asia rankings, the top three spots were firmly held by universities from Singapore and Hong Kong. This year, Tsinghua University broke through, becoming the first mainland Chinese university to enter the Asian top three — a commendable achievement.

Among the top ten, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University all achieved their best-ever rankings, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University entering the top ten for the first time, extending a six-year streak of improvement.

As QS Director Ben Sowter noted, "Chinese universities have continued to scale new heights over the past year, and it is entirely possible that a Chinese university will become the Asian number one in the near future."

Hong Kong, China University Rankings

Eight universities from Hong Kong, China are ranked: The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and City University of Hong Kong all entered the Asian top 20, with relatively stable performance overall.

Notably, Lingnan University Hong Kong received a 5+ Stars rating, signifying first-class performance across all dimensions and underscoring its comprehensive strength.
