Program Overview
The University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy and the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth jointly offer the MSCEP program, cultivating future leaders at the intersection of climate science, energy technology, data science, economics, and public policy.
Students have the opportunity to connect with global stakeholders through participation in excursions and major climate conferences.
Curriculum
This one-year, full-time program provides a comprehensive understanding of climate and energy challenges and builds a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, climate science, economics, and energy policy.
The curriculum covers four core areas: Data & Analytical Tools, Economics & Policy Analysis, Climate Science & Systems, and Energy Technology & Innovation.
Application Requirements
The MSCEP program is designed for analytically oriented professionals with backgrounds in economics, engineering, statistics, or natural sciences.
The program requires specific short answer essays. Applicants with five or more years of relevant full-time work experience may request a GRE waiver.
The early application deadline is October 2, and the final round deadline is January 15 of the following year.
