Baruch College's Financial Engineering program has reclaimed the top spot this year, with Princeton University ranking second and Carnegie Mellon University continuing to hold third place. This year, QuantNet surveyed programs in financial engineering, financial mathematics, and quantitative finance, evaluating them based on admissions, employment, and career services. Baruch College's Financial Engineering program returns to the top spot this year, with Princeton University's Master in Finance and Carnegie Mellon University's Computational Finance program placing second and third, respectively.
Columbia University's Financial Engineering program, which saw its post-graduation employment rate plummet to 37% last year, has bounced back to 79% this year, propelling it into the top 5 and overtaking MIT's Master of Finance and UC Berkeley's Financial Engineering program.
North Carolina State University's Financial Mathematics program also emerged as a dark horse this year, climbing three places to rank 9th and pushing Cornell University's Financial Engineering and NYU's Financial Engineering programs out of the top 10.

This year's latest ranking places even greater emphasis on employment success, with its weight increased from 55% to 60%. Within this, the weight of the employment rate three months after graduation has been raised from 15% to 20%.
The weight of student selectivity has been reduced from 25% to 20%, with a new distribution: undergraduate GPA has dropped from 17.5% to 5%, the acceptance rate has increased from 7.5% to 10%, and a new enrollment rate indicator has been added at 5%.
