Although Walmart has slipped to second place globally, its annual revenue still exceeds $710 billion, making it one of the world's largest retail enterprises.

Nvidia followed closely with profits of approximately $120.1 billion, Apple with $112 billion, and Microsoft with $101.8 billion.
The combined net profit of just five tech companies—Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Meta—reached approximately $526.5 billion.
The tech industry as a whole also emerged as one of the fastest-growing major sectors in this edition of the list: 38 tech companies generated a combined revenue of approximately $4 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 21%, while their profits grew by about 36%.
Nvidia: From "Dark Horse" to Core Player
If Nvidia was considered a "dark horse" on the list in recent years, by 2026, it has officially become a core member of the world's largest corporate elite.
This year, Nvidia's revenue reached approximately $215.9 billion, a year-on-year surge of 65.5%. Its ranking on the Global 500 jumped dramatically from 66th last year to 28th, marking its first entry into the global top 50.
Its profitability is even more remarkable. Nvidia's annual net profit hit approximately $120.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 64.8%, trailing only Alphabet to become the second-most profitable company on the Global 500 list.
The growth driven by AI is no longer limited to NVIDIA alone.
TSMC rose from rank 126 to 82 this year; SK Hynix climbed to 210; and Broadcom ranked 230th. Micron, ASML, and AMD also made it onto this year’s Fortune Global 500 list.
From chip design and wafer fabrication to servers, storage, lithography equipment, cloud computing, and data centers, AI is driving an entire infrastructure supply chain into a phase of high-speed growth.

For Fortune Global 500 companies, top-tier universities remain a critical source of talent.

However, a prestigious degree does not guarantee job security.
