As you know, many UK universities adopt a rolling admission policy: first come, first served, with early applications receiving early offers. Typically, the peak period for UK university applications opens between late September and October, but now in July, many schools have already opened their 2020 master's application channels. Once UK universities begin reviewing, they will continue to accept applications until the number of applicants reaches the target. Once the target is met, the application portal may close early.

July-August 2019: Prepare for Applications

Select target universities, clarify application requirements, improve GPAs, participate in academic internships and other background enhancement projects, prepare for language tests, understand each university's document requirements, and begin drafting your CV, personal statement, and at least two recommendation letters.

 

September-November 2019: Submit Applications

Keep track of when universities open for applications and plan the order in which you will submit them in advance.

 

November 2019 - March 2020: Wait for Offers + Adjust Plans

Receive offers; if rejected, you can argue your case with the university. At the same time, apply to additional universities and programs, and use this period to take the IELTS so your scores meet the requirements.

 

April-June 2020: Apply for Language Programs

For students who have already received offers from early applications but whose IELTS scores are insufficient, consider applying for language courses. Remember to register for the IELTS exam in advance.

 

May-October 2020: Apply for Visas and Prepare for Departure

Students attending language programs need to prepare visa materials early. Students on full degree programs usually submit their visa applications in July or August. After receiving your visa, pack your luggage and you’re ready to start your study abroad journey!

 

China is already the largest source of international students for UK universities. According to data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (Hesa), there were 43,530 Chinese students in the UK in 2007-2008.

 

A decade later, that number had risen to 106,530, including 60,460 postgraduates and 46,070 undergraduates.
