Test Day Preparation & Important Notes

ID Card

Be sure to prepare your valid ID card in advance. You must bring it on test day to be admitted to the test center.

Confirmation Letter

It's best to print and bring it. Many test centers previously did not strictly check it, but post-pandemic rules may be stricter. We recommend having a copy ready.

Rescheduling or Canceling

You must apply at least 10 days before the test date. Rescheduling is only possible if seats are available and requires a rescheduling fee of ¥388.

Time Interval

You can take the GRE up to five times per year. There must be at least 21 days between test dates. Please note: the at-home test and the in-person test both count toward the total number of attempts.
