Psychology is a science that studies the psychological phenomena, mental functions, and behavior of humans and animals. It is both a theoretical and an applied discipline, encompassing two major fields: theoretical psychology and applied psychology.
Psychology research involves many areas such as perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships, and is also connected to many aspects of daily life—family, education, health, etc. On one hand, psychology attempts to use brain functions to explain basic individual behavior and psychological mechanisms; on the other hand, psychology also seeks to explain the role of individual psychological functions in social behavior and social dynamics.
