What Are the Advantages of Early Admission?
Multiple Rounds Spread Risk and Increase Admission Chances
Early admission applications to popular universities in Hong Kong and Singapore do not affect subsequent rounds of review or submission. For NUS priority admission, if unsuccessful, the application remains valid and is automatically rolled into the regular admission selection starting in October.
At the same time, the results from the early round allow applicants to identify gaps and adjust subsequent application strategies in time to improve the odds of receiving an offer.
Streamlined Materials, Shorter Preparation Time
Most early admission programs only require submission of academic materials such as transcripts, resumes, and English test scores. Some programs may additionally require recommendation letters, but generally there are no personal statement requirements.

This greatly reduces material preparation time. For applicants with strong GPAs and high-ranking school backgrounds, this is a major advantage, allowing them to complete and submit applications quickly and seize the initiative.
Short Application Window, Fixed Result Notification Dates
Many early admission programs are only open for about two months and often specify the exact offer release dates on the official website. Even without a specific date, results are usually known by September.
Priority admission offers have the same validity as regular admission offers. Once accepted, it is equivalent to securing your place a year in advance.
NUS Early Admission Application Advice
Based on past application experience, although the language requirements are relatively low, in practice TOEFL scores of 88+ or IELTS scores of 6.5+ may be expected.
Some programs may require interviews, and good interview performance can effectively increase admission chances.
In early admission, NUS tends to favor students from overseas universities and those from mainland China's 985/211 Project universities. NUS has previously stated clearly: they recommend this application pathway for students with well-prepared materials or consistently outstanding academic performance and achievements.
Additionally, as admission dynamics change each year, whether one can be "rescued" later is a matter of chance. For applicants from non-985/211 mainland universities or without particularly exceptional backgrounds, we advise realistically assessing your capabilities.
In any case, early planning, early application, and early offers remain the timeless winning formula in every application season.
CheersYou(清柚教育) wishes all students well in their active preparations, and may you smoothly receive offers from your dream schools!
